Abuelo’s story starts back in the summer of 1989 with the entrepreneurs Dirk Rambo, Chuck Anderson, and James Young. They opened their first restaurant in Amarillo, Texas with the aim to offer tasty, made-from-scratch authentic Mexican food at affordable prices. Also, they had the goal to create a place where clients of all ages could meet to experience together the unique flavors, along with the culture and art of Mexico.
