Arby’s is a sandwich restaurant chain, the second largest in the United States of America, after Subway. Brand History

The first Arby’s restaurant was opened in 1964, in Boardman, Ohio by Forrest and Leroy Raffel. These two wanted to offer something different to the customers and came up with the idea to provide fresh sandwiches for people who are in a hurry and want something prepared fast, something other than burgers. The freshly sliced roast beef sandwiches were served as fast as preparing and serving a burger or other fast-food item. In the beginning, on the menu of the restaurant, you could find only roast beef sandwiches, soft drinks, and potato chips.

The name of the restaurant, Arby’s, comes from the co-founders, the Raffel Brothers (RB).

Their fast-food concept expanded very fast and in 1965 they opened their first franchise in Akron, Ohio. During the 1970s the restaurant developed very fast and in 1971 it debuted with its new roast beef sandwich. In 1977 the Arby-Q sandwich was introduced on the menu, plus some other items such as the curly fries, the beef and cheddar sandwich, and a variety of shakes.

In 1991 Arby’s became the first fast-food restaurant that had a “lite” menu containing salads and sandwiches with less than 300 calories.

Also, in 1944 this was the first fast-food restaurant that banned smoking in all locations.

Arby’s merged with Wendy’s International, Inc. in 2008 and became the Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Inc., but in 2011 split from this company and was bought by Roark Capital Group. The headquarter of the company is in Sandy Springs, Georgia and the current Chief Executive Officer of the company is Paul Brown.

Nowadays, the restaurant has more than 3,400 locations all over the World. The only two states where you won’t find an Arby’s in America are Rhode Island and Vermont. Regarding the international presence, there are locations in Canada, Qatar, Bahamas, Turkey, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Portugal, Ecuador, Malaysia, Brazil, Philippines, Brazil, Kuwait, Chile, Indonesia, Japan, Egypt, Netherlands, Jordan, Poland, United Kingdom, and Poland.

If you want to eat at Arby’s, you will not have to make a reservation beforehand because this is a casual fast-food restaurant. You can choose to take your food to-go or to dine in there. In general, the restaurant is open from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.

Some of the most popular sandwiches are the French Dip and Swiss, the Roast Beef Classic, the Jalapeno Roast Beef Slider, the Junior Roast Beef Sandwich, the Roast Beef and Cheese Slider, the Junior Bacon Cheddar Melt, and the Beef and Cheddar. You will have to pay anywhere between $4 and $6 for one of these sandwiches.

Some other items include the Smokehouse Brisket, the Angus Steak, Chicken, Corned Beef, Turkey, Bacon, and Ham. Expect to pay anywhere between $6 and $9 for an Angus Steak sandwich. These include the Angus Three Cheese Bacon, the A.1. Special Reserve Steak Sandwich, the Angus Philly cheesesteak, the Fiery Steak Fajita Flatbread, and the Steak Fajita Flatbread.

You will have to pay anywhere between $5 and $6 for the Reuben sandwich. The same price will be paid for the Junior Ham and Cheese sandwich and the turkey options. These options include Roast Turkey and Swiss sandwiches, the Grand Club Turkey, and the Roast Turkey Ranch and Bacon.

If you are of those people who love chicken, then you can choose between the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich, the Chicken Bacon and Swiss, and the Crispy Chicken.
