Black Angus Steakhouse, which was known as Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus before 2005, was founded on April 3, 1964, by Stuart Anderson. The first location was opened in Seattle, Washington.

Over time, Black Angus Steakhouse was sold and bought several times by different companies. For instance, in 1972 it was bought by Saga, and in 1987 Saga was purchased by Marriott, which sold it to the American Restaurant Group some Saga restaurants.

By 1995 there were opened 101 Black Angus restaurants and in 2001 they had 103 locations in thirteen states. The number of Black Angus Steakhouse locations dropped to 93 by 2004. In September of that year, the company filed for bankruptcy.

In March 2009 Versa Capital Management Inc. bought Black Angus Steakhouse.

If you are going for the first time to Black Angus Steakhouse and you don’t know what to order, you should try their rib eye steak with mushrooms, mac n’ cheese, and mashed potatoes.

Plan on spending anywhere between $10 to $12 for a burger or sandwich, such as Black & Bleu Burger, Mahi Mahi Sandwich, Roadhouse Cheeseburger, Buffalo-Style Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Prime Rib French Dip Sandwich, Parmesan Peppercorn Chicken Sandwich, and Cajun Prime Rib Sandwich, to name a few.

The steaks and chops are a bit more expensive with prices of anywhere between $12 and $26. Some of the options would include New York Strip, Filet Mignon, Cajun Ribeye, Roasted Prime Rib, Sirloin Steak, Mesquite-Grilled Pork Chops, and The 20 Oz. Porterhouse/T-Bone.
