Blaze Pizza was founded in 2011, in Pasadena, California by Elise and Rick Wetzel, who also founded Wetzel’s Pretzels. Though, the first location was opened one year later, in August 2012, in Irvine, California. Only after two months, in October 2012, a second location was opened in Pasadena. Shortly after the opening of the first two locations, LeBron James invested in this company. By the end of 2014, 50 units across the country were opened, with plans to open another 60 to 70 locations.
