Brand History
Chili’s restaurant started from the dream of Larry Lavine to own and run an informal full-service restaurant where he could serve hamburgers at an affordable price. So, in 1975 he converted a postal station situated on Greenville Avenue in the Vickery Meadows area of Dallas, Texas, into his first restaurant. In 1981 he moved into another building in the same location and in 2007 relocated again.
The restaurant gained the customers' appreciation and by the early 1980s, there were 28 Chili’s restaurants opened in the Texas area.
In 1983, the restaurant executive Norman E. Brinker bought Chili’s from Larry Lavine.
Nowadays, there are more than 1,600 Chili’s locations all over the world.
