Chin Liposuction Cost
Liposuction at the level of the goiter is a procedure indicated for people who want to remove the “double chin” and completely change the appearance of their face. The appearance of a double chin does not depend on age or weight. You don’t have to be overweight to deal with this problem; even very slim people can have it.
During the growth process, the throat ages, and the quality of the skin decreases; it becomes soft, starts to sag, and can accumulate fat. These effects can completely change the appearance of the face and the facial contour, leading to an aging face – the person looks even older than he or she is.
Fortunately, there is a solution to these problems: Chin Liposuction.
How much does chin liposuction cost?
You should expect to pay around $7,600 for laser liposuction and anywhere between $1,550 and $5,100 for traditional liposuction, depending on the doctor, the patient’s condition, and the geographical location. For example, you will have to pay around $3,700 for total liposuction performed at La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Center in California, while at Dr. George Beraka in New York you will have to pay around $5,200. Also, Dr. Satish C. Vayas from Dearborn, Michigan charges anywhere between $2,100 and $3,200 for chin liposuction, including the facility and anesthesia fee which is $1,550 for a one-hour procedure, and the surgeon fee which is anywhere between $550 and $1,600.

The laser chin liposuction is the most expensive. For instance, Dr. Brooke Secke in Boston charges around $7,700 for this procedure.
In general, the cost of chin liposuction is not covered by health insurance because this is considered a cosmetic procedure.
Chin liposuction overview
Before the procedure, the skin around the facial area will be cleansed with an antiseptic solution. In the case of men, it is necessary to remove facial hair. Women, if necessary, can do a waxing about 2 days before the procedure.
Neck liposuction to reduce or eliminate the double chin effect is done through small incisions in the less visible areas under the chin.
A cannula is inserted inside the incisions, during which time the cannula is connected to a small suction pump. The suction can also be done with a syringe, after an infiltration has been done with a special solution, which makes it easier to access the cannula. This removes the fat gradually, without any pain. It is basically a guided extraction of excess fat deposits from under the chin.
The removal of the double chin by liposuction is done under local anesthesia and, if necessary, with mild sedation, in the case of more anxious patients.
After removing the fat, the incisions are closed with the help of fine sutures or with the help of special patches, which do not leave traces and speed up the healing process.
The procedure itself takes a short time, and in just 15-30 minutes, you will have a new, slimmer and better-defined look.
For most people, a single liposuction procedure is sufficient. If the doctor recommends it, you could also get a facelift and a neck lift, in order to obtain better results.
In the first few weeks, the patient will need to wear a chin compression garment that will cover the vertex and cervical area or even the entire cervical area and scalp, leaving only the face free. It will need to be worn throughout the day for 2-3 weeks.
During the recovery period, the patient may also require treatments based on manual massage or with the help of various body remodeling devices, to even out the cervical tissue.
What are the extra costs?
After the surgery, the doctor might prescribe antibiotics and pain medication.
Also, after this procedure you will have to wear a chin compression garment for around two weeks in order to aid healing. This garment can cost around $30.
Important things to consider
Immediately after the surgery, the looks of the neck, goiter and chin will change significantly. Even if there are still some bruises, the goiter will be gone. However, the patient will have to wait a period of about 2 months, until the final contour is fully revealed. Then you will be able to see the exact results of the surgery.
It is not recommended for patients with excess fat deposits and skin without tone, or without a medium capacity of retraction, because the result will be unsatisfactory. In the latter situation, liposuction must be followed by a facelift and neck lift.
The procedure is also not indicated for patients with neck edema.
Even if we are talking about a minor procedure, the passage of the cannula must be constantly monitored, so as not to damage certain important structures in the neck. At the same time, if the liposuction was an aggressive one, there is the possibility that the skin will stick in some places to the muscular layer which would produce an unsightly appearance, with multiple irregularities and deformities. However, if the procedure is performed by an experienced doctor, the risks decrease significantly.
How can I save money?
The majority of plastic surgeons offer discounts for liposuction on multiple zones of the body or for multiple types of procedures.
