Brand history
The person behind the Gigi’s Cupcake company is Gigi Butler, an American woman with an entrepreneurial spirit who loved music and baking. While growing up in California she learned how to prepare and bake her family’s secret recipes. As she loved singing, in 1994, at a young age she moved to Nashville to follow her dream.
At the age of 15 she founded her own cleaning company, at which she worked during the day while in the evening, she performed at downtown Nashville honky-tonks.
Ten years have already passed since Gigi was cleaning houses and trying to build a music career when her brother gave her a call that inspired her to create Gigi’s Cupcake. He told her that he was in New York and complained about the fact that he had to wait for more than two hours to purchase a cupcake. And, it wasn’t even as good as those made by her or their mother.

As a result, she took a great risk and took out a large sum of money from her personal credit card to open her first store. With only $33 left in her account, Gigi Butler opened her first Gigi’s Cupcake store in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2008.
This was the best decision she could make in her life, as after eight years more than one hundred Gigi’s Cupcake locations were opened all over the United States of America, with plans to continue to expand and open more stores.
