Personal life – influenced by the relationship with the Church of Scientology
Scientology came into his life through his first wife, the actress Mimi Rogers. Their marriage only lasted 3 years, but his relationship with this religion became the strongest and most resistant of his entire life. If for a while he kept his involvement in the Church of Scientology a secret, after the press revealed this fact, he turned not only into its defender but also into a promoter.
The second marriage was not with more luck either, although for a long time he and Nicole Kidman were seen as an ideal couple. They got married only 10 months after the actor’s first divorce and adopted 2 children together: Isabella and Connor. It was Cruise who filed for divorce in 2001, not knowing that Nicole was pregnant.
However, the actress lost the pregnancy due to complications, just as she also lost the children she adopted with Tom Cruise. And that time the problem would have been created also by the membership of the Church of Scientology, from which the actress distanced herself even before the separation from her husband.
After the divorce, Tom Cruise was involved for 3 years in a relationship with Penelope Cruz, and its end would have meant the beginning of a secret project within the church, where several actresses, also members of it, would have been called to auditions intended to bring Cruise the perfect wife.
In the end, the Hollywood star found himself a new wife, Katie Holmes, and once again the audience was captivated by the newly formed couple. After 6 months since they started going out together, the 2 announced that they were expecting a child, the actor’s first biological child. Their daughter Suri was born in April 2006, and in November of the same year, Tom and Katie were married. The marriage of the two lasted for 6 years, and this time, Tom was the one who lost his child, not without a terrible fight.
