Maggiano’s Little Italy was founded in 1991 by Rich Melman’s Lettuce Entertain You Enterprise (LEYE). The first location was opened on November 11 in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, at Grand Avenue and Clark Street. The aim of this business was to recreate “the classic pre-World War II dinner house featuring family size portions”. The restaurant had a huge success since its opening, which led to the opening of a second location in Oak Brook, Illinois.
A third location was opened two years later in Skokie, Illinois. Though not long after this, the company took the decision to branch out outside Illinois in 1994, so a fourth restaurant was opened in McLean, Virginia at Tyson’s Corner Galleria II. This new location was very successful and was proof that the business can be expanded at a national level. This is what made Brinker International, Inc. purchase Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Inc. in 1995.
Since then, the new owner has expanded the business all over the country and opened new restaurants in states such as Arizona, the District of Columbia, California, Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington, Florida, Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Missouri, New Jersey, and Nevada. There are more than 50 Maggiano’s Little Italy locations.
Maggiano’s Little Italy strives to offer an authentic Italian-American dining experience to its customers. For example, the songs of Frank Sinatra are played inside and fresh gladiolas are placed every day on the tables. Also, they provide a large list of wines that complements the tasty Italian food.
This restaurant is the best place for special occasions, both pleasure and business-oriented. For instance, the Banquet halls and the dining halls can be booked so you can organize a corporate event, a wedding, or a bar mitzvah.
You can pick between a shared family-style menu and a regular menu. Both of these offer large portions of food. The lunch menu includes various types of pastas, appetizers, salads, soups, flatbreads, lunch combinations, sandwiches, and Marco’s meant for Two. The dinner menu also offers specialty pasta sections, Chef’s favorites, steak and veal, seafood, and chicken. As for the beverages, the restaurant offers a full-service bar where wines, beer, cocktails, tea, and coffee are served.
Be prepared to spend anywhere between $12 and $15 for flatbreads and appetizers, while for a regular-sized salad you will have to pay anywhere between $14 and $18. Soups cost anywhere between $5 and $9, side salads are priced at around $7 and sandwiches cost $15 to $19.
Marco’s Meals for Two cost anywhere between $45 and $50, while the Standards are priced from $20 to $25 and include meals such as Chicken Caprese, Chicken Parmesan, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, and Grilled Salmon Lemon and Herb.
Expect to pay anywhere between $20 and $34 for a portion of Specialty Pastas such as Linguine di Mare, and Famous Rigatoni D OR Chef KB’s Lobster Carbonara. On the other hand, The House Classic Pastas cost around $18 and include Fettuccine Alfredo, Mom’s Lasagna, Spaghetti and Meatballs and Lighter Take Baked Ziti.
Some of the customer’s favorite meals include the Grilled Salmon, the Famous Rigatoni D, the Beef Tenderloin Medallions, the Eggplant Parmesan, the Beef Tenderloin Medallions, the Four-Cheese Ravioli, and the Shrimp Fra Diavolo.
Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant is very appreciated by the customers and is the perfect place to eat at, if you want to enjoy a delicious Italian-American meal.
