Brand History

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers’ history is inspiring and interesting as well. It all started in the 1990s from the dream of Craig Silvey and Todd Graves to open their own restaurant. They had the idea to open a restaurant specialized only in chicken finger dishes. This didn’t seem like a good idea for most of their college professors and also for any potential investors.

After that, both Silvey and Graves went to work twenty hours per day as commercial fishermen in Alaska. This way they were able to save money and get a Small Business Administration loan.

Silvey wanted to continue his studies and sold his part in the company in 1999. Tough, some years later he returned as vice president of information technology and finance.

Our review

The main dish in the Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers menu is the chicken fingers. The chicken is never frozen and always prepared fresh. They use a premium selection of chicken breast tenderloins and marinate them in a special mix of ingredients that gives flavor to the meat and also tenderizes it. Every piece of chicken is breaded and hand-dipped. There is also a mix of premium Canola Oil used to fry the chicken.

Fries served at Raising Cane’s have an extra-long size and are center-cut from grade A potatoes. These are cooked in such a way that keeps them soft inside and with a golden-brown crisp on the outside. In each of Raising Cane’s restaurants, coleslaw is cooked every day. They use sesame seeded bread for the Texas Toast and before grilling they brush it with a mix of garlic and butter.

The customers just love the Cane’s Sauce flavor and each batch is freshly prepared daily. The only one who knows the secret of this recipe is the general manager. As for the drinks, their menu includes lemonade, Coca-Cola beverages, and tea. Their tea is freshly prepared a few times per year and can be served unsweetened or sweet. Also, for the lemonade, they use real lemons.

The cost of most chicken dishes is under $10 and these are served in combos with sides, sauces and drinks. Raising Cane’s can honor large orders of chicken fingers to accommodate large parties. Also, their lemonade and iced tea are available by the gallon as well.

The atmosphere from the Raising Cane’s restaurants is a friendly one, and even though there is not a large variety of food items on their menu the taste of fresh chicken fingers is great.
