STACKED is an American restaurant located in California, where you can order American cuisine dishes. This restaurant is famous for its innovative ordering method that uses iPads in the process of placing orders.

Brand history

STACKED is pretty new in business as it was founded in 2015 by Stephen and Stacey Hindman. Over time, more restaurants were opened in Thousand Oaks, Torrance, Cerritos, and San Diego. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2011 they permanently closed almost all locations.

Currently, there is only one location opened in Huntington Beach, California, but they have plans and hope to open more restaurants in the future.

Since its opening, STACKED has won several small local awards and recognitions. For instance, their specialty sauce is very appreciated. Also, the National Restaurant Association honored them for pioneering restaurant industry’s first successful iPad ordering system.

Our review

The STAKED menu includes a wide variety of classic American food items you can choose from such as burgers, Mac and Cheese, sandwiches, pizzas, and salads. They even have a full cocktail bar and a kid’s menu.

Some of the customers’ favorites are the Garlic Chicken Sandwich, which is made with house-made garlic aioli, smashed avocado, and green leaf lettuce; the Sweet and Savory Flatbread, which is made with caramelized onions, gorgonzola cheese, balsamic glaze, candied pecans, and dried cranberries; the Asian Chicken Salad; the Hot Chick Sandwich, which is made with caramelized onions and freshy grilled Roma tomatoes; the Pastrami Sandwich, which is made with spicy brown mustard, coleslaw, pickles and pastrami; the BBQ Chicken Salad, that is prepared with grilled chicken breast, black beans, grape tomatoes, cilantro, jicama, creamy barbecue dressing, and onion rings.

Hamburgers are also very appreciated by clients. These are made with brioche or pretzel buns, freshly baked every morning, and include pickles, fresh lettuce, chipotle mayo, and others, depending on your order. Gluten-free and whole wheat buns are also available.

Be prepared to pay anywhere between $10 and $15 for a burger. Some of the options would include the Pastrami Burger, the Stack Your Own Burger, the Gobbler Burger, the Jalapeno Burger, the Hawaiian Burger, the Mac N’ Cheeseburger, the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, the Pepper Stack Burger, the Wake-up Call Burger, the Stack n’ Blue Burger and others.

Sandwiches are priced from $10 to $15 as well and would include the Prime Rib Sandwich, the Pulled Pork Sandwich, the Hot Chick Sandwich, the Short Rib Sandwich, the Chicken Cobb Sandwich, and the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich.

The price of a salad starts at around $5 and goes up to $18. Among the salads you can order are the Mediterranean Salad, the Cow in the Garden Salad, the Wrangler Salad, the Asian Chicken Salad, the BBQ Chicken Salad, the classic Caesar Salad, the Harvest Grain Salad, the House Salad, the Sweet N Smokey Salmon Cobb Salad, and the Cranberry Walnut Salad.

Appetizers and sides cost anywhere between $5 and $14 and include wings, nachos, burger bites, chicken tenders, cheese fries, chips and salsa, French fries, coleslaw, onion rings, sweet potato fries, and homemade potato chips.

The soup options include Chili, Chicken Tortilla Soup, and Tomato Bisque. Be prepared to pay for around $9 a soup.

Pizza costs anywhere between $15 and $20, and the options are BBQ Pizza, BBQ Carnitas Pizza, Get Your Greek On Pizza, Margherita Pizza, Pastrami Pizza, Cran-Brie Chicken Pizza, Mac n’ Cheese Pizza, Fiery Shrimp Pizza, Meat-a-tarian Pizza and Stack Your Own Pizza.

The Kid’s menu includes items such as mini burgers, mini cheeseburgers, cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, chicken tenders, grilled cheese, and Mac n’ Cheese. They are priced at around $7 each.
