Brand History

The story of Tropical House starts back in 1993 in Florida. In the beginning, it was just a small smoothie shop and in 1997 David Walker together with Delora Jenrich and Eric Jenrich founded Tropical Development Corporation in Destin, Florida. One year later, in 1998, the first franchised store was opened in Tallahassee, Florida.

Tropical House realized the potential of expanding its menu and in 1999 it added food items including wraps and sandwiches, creating a niche in the smoothie industry. As this company was expanding more and more, the design of the stores was changed to offer a beach house theme.

Tropical Smoothies has always been health-conscious and started to add vegan items to their menu, which already had a large variety of healthy options. The customersț feedback was absolutely positive and just after one month since adding a vegan-friendly meat substitute, it became a permanent item. Currently, Tropical Smoothie Café’s headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia and there are more than 1,000 locations all over the United States of America.

Almost anyone can afford a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie and will not have to break their wallet. The majority of the smoothies cost around $7. Also, the large variety of food choices is priced at almost $7 each. Though, you can choose the Smoothie Half deal that includes a smoothie and your choice of a half salad or half sandwich, at the cost of $9.

All the regular smoothies from Tropical Smoothie come in a 24 oz. size. There are four main categories of smoothiesȘ Indulgent, Supercharged, Classic, and Superfoods. You are offered the possibility to add in healthy extras such as protein powders, whole grain oats, kale, and flaxseed.

Tropical Smoothie also has different smoothie choices for children 12 and under. These are half the size of adult smoothies. As for the food items you can choose between Chicken Pesto Flatbread or Cilantro Lime Fish Taco, and pay around $7 per kid.

Overall, the Tropical Smoothie menu focuses on nutritious and fresh products. Moreover, their locations are very clean and hygienic. This restaurant also offers catering services.
