Brand history
The Vocelli Pizza story starts a long time ago in a mining town in Zonguldak, Turkey. This is the birthplace of Varol Ablak, whose father was a mining engineer. This is why Varol spent his childhood moving from one mining town to another.
So, Varol and his family moved from Turkey to Essen, Germany, and then to Lynn Lake, Canada, and finally to Pittsburg, United States.

Varol Ablak followed in his father’s footsteps and studied industrial engineering at the University of Pittsburg. However, he felt that engineering was not what he wanted to do in life and decided to start his own business.
He began to search for various jobs and ended up working at a local pizza restaurant in Biloxi, Mississippi as a dishwasher. Here Varol discovered his love for the pizza business. When he was only 24 years old, he founded his first business, an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet franchise located in the suburb of New Orleans Chalmette, Louisiana. It was a huge success and within six months he and his father opened a second location in Covington, Louisiana.
At that time the pizza delivery industry was skyrocketing and because of it, Varol and his father sold their two locations in Louisiana and went back to Pittsburg to start a new business focused on a much higher quality pizza and delivery.
Varol and his family opened their first restaurant on January 30th, 1988. It was located in Mt. Lebanon, a suburb of Pittsburg. A second location was opened the same year in McMurray, and after four months they opened a third store in Oakland. Another 20 locations were opened in the Pittsburg area in the next four years.
Varol realized that his business had huge potential and in 1993 he sold the first franchise. Currently, there are more than one hundred Vocelli Pizza restaurants across the United States of America, including states such as West Virginia, Alabama, Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
