Wawa is an American chain of gas stations and convenience stores with locations along the East Coast of the United States, operating in Florida, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Virginia, Delaware and Maryland.
Even though Wawa is a convenience store, their menu includes almost any type of food that you can imagine such as snacks, breakfast meals, wraps, soups, salads, bowls, chicken strips, sides, pizzas, hoagies, fresh backed rolls, sandwiches and quesadillas, but also a wide variety of beverages and coffee.
In general, Wawa menu prices are quite low and you can get a tasty meal for less than $8. On the other hand, if you want a larger meal such as a family-sized soups or pizzas, you will have to pay for these around $15.

Brand History
The history of the Wawa business starts back in 1803 when it was founded as an iron foundry. Some years later, in 1890, George Wood, an entrepreneur from New Jersey moved to Delaware, Pennsylvania, and started there the Wawa Dairy Farm.

Over time the customers’ demand for milk has changed and to adapt to these market changes, George Wood’s grandson, Grahame Wood, opened the first Wawa Food Market on April 16, 1964, in Folsom, Pennsylvania. This was in operation until 2016 when it was closed in favor of a new “Super Wawa” store that opened just down the street.
Four years later, in 1968, the first store was opened in New Jersey and in 1969 the first Delaware store was opened. The same year Wawa kitchen started offering food items such as fried chicken and hamburgers. In 1970 Wawa introduced sandwiches and pre-made hoagies into their menu.
The 100th Wawa store was opened in 1972, in Marlton, New Jersey.
The gold background and the Goose were added to the Wawa logo in the year of 1974.
Wawa stores started to brew and sell fresh coffee in 1975. Five years later, in 1980, they won the “Best of Philly” award for coffee.
In order to speed their service, in 1982 Wawa separated the deli section from the checkout counter.
Wawa installed ATMs in all of their locations in 1995 and until now there was no surcharge.
The first fuel store was opened in 1996, in Millsboro, Delaware.
Wawa always kept pace with technology and in 2002 introduced in all stores their well-known Touch Screen Ordering.
Wawa launched the Frozen Cappuccinos and Built-to-Order Smoothies in 2010. Freshly made Specialty Beverages such as Hot Chocolates, Hot & Iced Lattes, and many more were launched in 2012. In 2013 Wawa started to freshly bake the rolls in store.
Nowadays there are more than 900 Wawa locations in the United States of America and they are continuing to expand.

At Wawa, you should always find something for yourself, no matter what your budget is or what you like to eat or drink. For example, for less than $7 you can get a tasty 6-inch sub sandwich. If you are in a rush and only want a quick snack, you can get their fresh-baked rolls for less than $3. Wawa created their menu so anyone can afford something.
Wawa’s stores are always clean and well-lit. The ambiance is like in any other convenience store, but they set apart from their competitors thanks to the well-organized snack station. There is a wide selection of food items for any type of client.
Some of the customers’ favorites are the “Sizzli” Breakfast Sandwiches, but people also enjoy the large variety of beverages, wraps, and hoagies.
At Wawa, you can also find their own branded milk, orange juice, and iced tea. Their key products include the made-to-order hoagies and a wide variety of coffee, cappuccino, and latte that come in different sizes and flavors.
You can purchase alcohol from Wawa only in Virginia, Florida, and some selected locations in Pennsylvania.
