TCBY was founded by Frank D. Hickingbotham in 1981. He opened his first store in Little Rock, Arkansas, and named his son, Herren, store manager. The second store, which was opened later, was run by Frank’s brother-in-law, Walt Winters, and the third one was taken over by his youngest son, Todd. In their first full year, they managed to make a profit of $1.8 million and in their second year they more than doubled it. They had more than $50 million a few years later.

TCBY store abandoned the old scoop and serve model when they were updated. Now, when clients walk in, they have to help themselves with the soft-serve frozen yogurt. They can order any combination they want. Some of the delicious flavors include Golden Vanilla, Cake Batter, Cotton Candy Freeze, and Chocolate Peppermint.
After you have chosen your yogurt flavor, you go to the toppings bar where you can find a selection of candies and fruits, such as marshmallows, nuts, sprinkles, bananas, and cherries. They also offer some not-so-common ones, like mango, blackberries, and gummy bears.

Also, you can get a milkshake or parfait, if you want something a little different. Frappe chillers and cappuccinos are on their menu as well. Their pies and cakes are also very tasty.
