Brand History
The history of Capriotti’s dates back to 1976 when Alan Margolet and his sister Lois open their first restaurant in Wilmington, Delaware. Even though the market was already full of sandwich shops, they wanted to create something different and unique. Their dream was to make a sandwich for „real turkey lovers” and to do this they began to roast whole fresh turkey overnight. This idea set them apart from their competitors and still does it today. Customers just loved Capriotti’s sandwiches and the word about their quality cheese and meats, fresh roasted turkey, and fresh rolls spread quickly.

Capriotti’s gets its name from the founder’s grandfather, Philip Capriotti, who used to cook tasty meals during their childhood.
Over time, Capriotti’s became more and more popular and in 1987, Diane Rizo, the founder’s cousin, joined the business and opened new locations in Delaware. Also, signature sandwiches were introduced, like Bobbie.
In 1993 the first location was opened in Las Vegas and so the brand caught the attention of the franchisees Jason Smylie and Ashley Morris. In 2007 Capriotti’s was bought by Smylie and Morris and the company exploded. So, by the end of 2008, there were 44 locations opened.
Capriotti’s core values are genuineness, passion, profitability, integrity, and family. This is what got them awarded in 2015 with the Best Sandwich and Best Fast Food awards, and in 2020 with the Best Philly Cheese Steak award.
Nowadays there are more than 100 Capriotti’s locations all over the United States of America and the chain continues to grow.
Our review
Every Capriotti’s restaurant is designed with a few small differences. For example, in some locations, the walls will have a clean-cut appearance, while in others the walls will be made of exposed brick. But all of these restaurants share the same welcoming atmosphere and classic modern theme. The staff is very friendly and professional, trying to make sure you get your order as soon as possible.
Even though they became popular thanks to their freshly roasted turkey subs, their menu also includes a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, cheesesteaks, soups, addons, and vegetarian options. Also, there is a kids' meal which includes any half-sub served with Raisins and juice box, and the Kids' grilled cheese.
In case you want to order a cold sub, you can choose between cheese, turkey, tuna, roast beef, and Italian. On the other hand, the hot subs are more delectable and include Capriotti’s homemade meatball sub, chicken cheesesteak, and cheesesteak.
Also, you can choose between a large variety of Cap specials that constantly feature new flavors. „The Bobbie” is their most popular sandwich. Actually, it won the „The Greatest Sandwich in America” award.
In conclusion, Capriotti’s is able to continuously serve freshly prepared food at a good price because they use only quality ingredients. They guarantee is that you will leave their restaurant satisfied and you will want to return.
