Brand History

The first Burgerville restaurant was opened in 1961, in Vancouver, Washington by George Propstra. Right from the beginning the company’s founder established partnerships with the local farms to ensure the freshness and quality of the ingredients used to prepare their products. This rule is respected in all Burgerville locations. This company tries to remain local and you will find their stores only across Washington and Oregon. There are more than 45 locations.

Besides the fact that the food prepared and served at Burgerville is very tasty, it is also very healthy. The ingredients they use come from local farms and starting with 2004 they took the decision to sell only free-range beef, with absolutely no antibiotics and hormones. Also, they use only trans-fat-free oil. Every month 7,500 gallons of this oil are transformed into biodiesel and so they take care of the environment as well.

The commitment to sustainability is another distinguishing characteristic of Burgerville restaurant. They use renewable energy and focus on sustainable agriculture practices and recycling. All Burgerville restaurants use only wind power energy and starting in 2007 they composted their waste, leading to a reduction of 85% of their waste footprint. Moreover, in 2009 they took the initiative to let the bicyclists use their drive-thru, a decision that their competitors didn’t take yet.

The company still provides tasty food even though they continued to commit to sustainability and health. Their great service and food were appreciated and rewarded, so in 2003 they won the Gourmet Magazine’s ‘Freshest Food in the Country’ Award and in 2007 the Food Network’s ‘Better Burger Award.

Our review

Burgerville Menu ItemsThe interior design of all Burgerville restaurants respects the same classic theme with traditional diner table and chair set up, neon lighting, bright colors, and black and white floors. Dining in one of these restaurants will make you feel like you are in the 1950s. All of the restaurants are very clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

You shouldn’t be surprised to notice that every item from their menu is really tasty, especially seeing that they use only locally sourced, healthy, fresh ingredients. There is a wide range of hamburgers you can choose from such as pepper bacon cheese, original, Tillamook cheese, original cheese, colossal cheese, and classic. Though, the customers’ favorite is the pepper bacon cheeseburger.

In case you don’t feel like eating a burger and want to try something else, Burgerville’s menu also includes fish, chicken, and turkey sandwiches, vegetarian options, halibut fish and chips, different sides, chicken tenders, and various salads. Moreover, you can choose between a wide range of homemade milkshakes made only with locally grown fruits. Also, there is a great seasonal range that coincides with the vegetables or fruits that are ripe that period.

The staff makes sure you get excellent service and you will not have to wait too long for your order. Also, the prices are very competitive compared to other restaurants from the same branch. For example, for a set meal you will have to pay around $5.5 and for a burger or a sandwich, you will have to pay anywhere between $1.5 and $8.

If you want to enjoy a fresh and tasty burger in a family-friendly atmosphere then Burgerville is the place you should go to.
