Brand History
Boston Market company was founded by Arthur Cores and Steven Kolow in 1984. Their first restaurant was located in Newton, Massachusetts. This business was a real success and became very popular, which led to an extremely fast expansion. In the beginning, this company was named “Boston Chicken” and their signature dish was the legendary rotisserie chicken. In order to reflect the growing diversity in their menu, the name of the restaurant was changed to “Boston Market” in 1995.

Even though the company developed very fast, it had some problems and in 1998 was forced to declare bankruptcy. In 2000 Boston Market chain was bought by Mcdonald’s which continued with the brand expansion.
Being so popular, Boston Market started to sell its own brand of ready-meals in supermarkets and so became a family-friendly brand. By 2007, the Boston Market franchise was sold to Sun Capital Partners, which remained true to the original company’s core values.
