Kung Fu Tea business idea appeared in 2009 in a local tea spot in New York. The three friends Ray, Allen, and Michael had just returned from a trip to Taiwan and were looking around for their favorite childhood drink, bubble tea. Disappointed with the tea served at that local store they decided to call their friend Sean, who already had his own bubble tea chain in Taiwan, and create their own bubble tea store.
So, on April 30, 2010, the first Kung Fu Tea store was opened in Queens, New York. Nowadays this is the largest bubble tea brand in America with more than 350 locations. Also, they have locations in Japan, Canada, Taiwan, and Cambodia.
Since its foundation, the Kung Fu Tea company has been involved in various brand internships such as miHoYo, with its game Honkai Impact 3rd, and Funimation with its distribution of the anime Fruits Basket. Also, they partnered with the clothing company Opening Ceremony.
The success of the Kung Fu Tea business lies in its core principles which are patience and discipline. Starting from these they have applied the use of “3T” Kung Fu, which is the selection of the best quality tea leaves, the brewing of the tea at the perfect temperature, and the steeping of the tea for the right amount of time.
The Kung Fu Tea business achieved that level of excellence it promises from the beginning through a lot of effort and patience.
Every Kung Fu Tea location offers a relaxing atmosphere where you can catch up with your friends and enjoy a tasty dessert and drink freshly made to order.
The customers’ favorites are the teas and the desserts thanks to their top-quality ingredients, texture, and taste. Clients keep coming back again and again for the authenticity of the bubble tea.
If you are craving something extra cold you should definitely order their slushes, while green milk tea is a good starting point for those who are trying bubble tea for the first time.
Due to their popularity, Kung Fu Tea stores tend to be pretty crowded on weekends and during the evenings, but the service is very efficient and friendly.
