Mitchell’s Fish Market was founded twenty-five years ago in 1998 by Cameron Mitchell, a restaurateur in Columbus, Ohio. The first restaurant was called “Columbus Fish Market” and was located in Columbus. Twelve locations were opened by the year 2006.

Until 2008, the restaurant chain was part of the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants group. At that time the group had 22 restaurants, and 19 of these were Fish Market locations. That year Ruth’s Chris Steak House (later renamed Ruth’s Hospitality Group) purchased the business for $92 million.

18 Mitchell’s Fish Market were opened restaurants throughout Wisconsin, Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky, by the year of 2014. Ruth’s sold the chain to Landry’s, Inc. for $10 million in late 2014. The acquisition included three steakhouse locations and 18 Mitchell’s Fish Market units.

Fourteen Mitchell’s Fish Market locations were opened in January 2018.

Currently, only eight Mitchell’s Fish Market restaurants are open and are located mainly in Midwest, while one is in Louisville, Kentucky.

If you are looking for a more laid-back, casual atmosphere with fresh ingredients and high-quality food, then Mitchell’s Fish Market is the ideal place for you. It is not necessary to always make a reservation, but it would be better.

Their menu includes a wide variety of appetizers with prices that range from $10 to $15. Some of these include the Kung Pao Fried Calamari, Crab, Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Spicy Asian Shrimp, and Eared Hawaiian Ahi Tuna.

The salads and soups are a little cheaper with prices that start at around $5 and go up to $8. You will be able to choose between the Spinach Salad, the Classic Caesar Salad, Maine Lobster Soup, and others.

The Surf & Turf selections include food items such as Alaska King Crab Legs, Lemon Pepper Chicken, The Market Burger, Twin Cold Water Rock Lobster Tails, and Lemon Pepper Chicken, to name a few. Each of these costs anywhere between $16 and $38.
