Brand History
Waffle House is a private food chain restaurant that offers its customers hospitality services in a casual dining setting. The restaurant was founded by Tom Forkner and Joe Roger Sr. and is owned by Waffle House, Inc. This company has its headquarters in Gwinnett County, which is located close to Norcross, Georgia. The idea that stood behind the success of this food chain restaurant was fast-food services available for customers 24-hours.
In 1955, on the Labor Day weekend, the first Waffle House restaurant in Avondale Estates, Georgia was opened. In 1960, after the opening of the fourth restaurant, they decided to distribute the franchise for their idea. So, at the end of that year, the company had its portfolio of twenty-seven restaurants. Most of the restaurants were still owned by the first two founders.
People going to any of Waffle House restaurants have a wide variety of food items and beverages they can choose from, all of them at affordable prices. The food menu features options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but their main focus is waffles, eggs, and steaks. For a breakfast, you should expect to pay around $7.5, and for lunch or dinner, you should be prepared to spend anywhere between $5.5 and $9.

The Waffle House price menu is cheaper compared to other similar food chain restaurants, and their value dollar menu is famous for the low prices. One of the most favorite items among the customers who stop by to quick quench hunger is the $1 cheeseburger. Whenever they have the possibility, the customers praise this restaurant for its affordable prices.
The customers are not attracted only by the low prices, but also by the atmosphere of these restaurants. In every one of these eatery houses, you can find a jukebox where you can play some music.
In the beginning, you could only play 45-rpm singles, but later, some other songs were included in the list, that contained the restaurant’s name or were played by singers that had relations with this restaurant such as Bloodhound Gang and Mary Welch Rogers. These songs are not available for sale out of the food house and the chain reserves the rights to them.
All of the restaurants of this chain have outlets that are equipped with in-house and portable generators. The customer’s safety is extremely important for them and they have a very good disaster management plan. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Waffle House has the top-most rank for disaster response, being followed by Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Lowe’s.
