Brand history

The Cooper’s Hawk was founded in October 2005 by Tim McEnery and the first restaurant was located in Orland Park, Illinois. After working three years in restaurant management, Tim observed that there were only a few wineries that had an on-site restaurant. The Cooper’s Hawk became the first establishment in Illinois that had a restaurant and winery under the same roof.

Currently, there are 54 Cooper’s Hawk restaurants across the Southeastern and Midwest United States.

Over time, Cooper’s Hawk has earned a lot of wine awards from international, national, and local competitions. For instance, in 2010 it was named a “Hot Concept” and in 2013 was named “MenuMaster” by Nation’s Restaurant News. In 2021, USA Today named Cooper’s Hawk one of the Top 10 Best Winery Restaurants. In 2022, Wine Spectator awarded this restaurant with the “Best of Award of Excellence”.

You should be prepared to pay $8 to $15 for an appetizer such as Ahi Tuna Tacos, Thai Lettuce Wraps, Cooper’s Hawk Calamari, Roasted Beets & Whipped Goat Cheese, or Chef Matt’s Monthly Cheese Tasting.

The appetizer salads cost anywhere between $8 and $10, and you will be able to choose from the Chopped Wedge Salad, Plain Ol’ House Salad, or Caesar Pesto Salad. Also, you can order chopped salads such as Napa Chicken Salad, Mediterranean Salad with Shrimp, Blackened Bleu Skirt Steak Salad, and Cooper’s Hawk Cobb Salad, to name a few.
