Brand History

Shake Shack was founded in 2004 by Danny Meyer as a result of his efforts to rebuild Madison Square Park. This business started from a simple hot dog cart owned by Dany Meyer’s Union Square Group. It was located in the Madison Square Park in order to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy and redevelopment. Its first location was a real success and the business expanded since then.
