The name of the Chick-fil-A restaurant was given by S. Truett Cathy, who was looking for the perfect name for his chicken sandwiches. The A in the name stands for grade A meat because right from the start, this establishment was made to provide only premium meats in high-quality products. The A is also capitalized, to better express their inclination towards better quality products.

The creator of Chick-fil-A was S. Truett Cathy. S. He started this restaurant believing that he could create better products and train staff to offer better customer service than everyone else on the market at that time. Currently, under the Chick-fil-A brand, there are over 2,300 stores. Even though the name of this brand has traveled all around the world, their fast-food restaurants can only be found in the U.S. They did express their intention to open four new Chick-fil-A restaurants in Hawaii.

Chick-fil-A was founded in Hapeville, Georgia, where the first restaurant was opened. They started in the food court of a mall. When noticing the huge success and the big number of sales, they continued to open restaurants under the franchise in more and more food courts. The first independent restaurant under the Chick-fil-A brand was opened In 1986. Even though their independent restaurants are a big hit all around the United States, they still launch food court locations where it makes sense in terms of expected sales.

The Chick-fil-A locations usually open at 6 a.m. This still depends on the franchisee so some locations might have a different schedule.

Chick-fil-A is open Monday through Saturday and will usually close around 10 p.m. Even though different franchisees might have different rules about the schedule, all of the stores under this brand are closed on Sundays.
