Brand History

Morris Reaves opened the first Cook Out restaurant in the 1980s on Randleman Road in Greensboro, North Carolina. The current owner of the company is still Morris Reaves and the Chief Executive Officer is his son Jeremy Reaves. By the end of the year 1998, there were other ten Cook Out restaurants opened in the Raleigh/Durham area in North Carolina. But it didn’t stop here and the brand opened more locations in the Charlotte Metro Area in the following years. The restaurant built its good reputation thanks to the great customer service and quality food. This reputation led to the creation of a loyal customer base in the Southeastern area.

On July 30, 2010, the first restaurant was opened outside of the state of North Carolina, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In the same year, two more locations were opened in Orangeburg and Clemson, South Carolina. The company continued its expansion and new restaurants were opened in Harrisonburg, Virginia; Columbia, South Carolina; Lynchburg, Virginia; Radford, Virginia and Blacksburg, Virginia. Also, the restaurant expanded in other states such as Maryland, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

The restaurant chain is constantly expanding and more locations are opened in different areas from the Southeast of the United States.
