Disneyland is the place on earth where every person, big or small, wants to go at least once in their life to meet their favorite characters, the ones that made their childhood happier. The two Disney parks in America, one in California and the other in Florida owe their existence to Walt Disney, who wanted very much to transform the world of magic he created with his drawings into reality.
As you would expect, parks have expanded a lot to this day, and today there are also Disney hotels or restaurants where tourists can relax and rest.
Disneyland is the most visited theme park in the world, with over 650 million guests since its opening. In 2013, the park hosted about 16.2 million guests, making it the third most visited park in the world that calendar year. According to a Disney report in March 2005, Disneyland Resort supports 65,700 jobs, including about 20,000 direct Disney employees and 3,800 third-party employees (independent contractors or their employees).
Where can you visit Disneyland?
Many kids, and not only, dream of getting to Disneyland at least once. In that place where they can meet their favorite cartoon characters, where they can have fun, and where they will get some of the most beautiful memories. The six Disneyland locations around the world are in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, and China, with twelve theme parks in total.
The Walt Disney Company celebrates 100 years in 2023, and the celebrations started in January. This will be the biggest global anniversary in the company’s history, even if the focus is on the US, and amusement parks will be at the heart of it, according to the official blog of DisneyParks. So, in addition to events, we can also expect special Disney offers and anniversary discounts. But what about renting Disneyland for a day?
How much does it cost to rent out Disneyland?
The cost to rent out an entire Disneyland isn’t available, as Disneyland can’t be rented for a whole day for yourself or to organize a private event. Although you can’t rent the entire park, there is the option to rent out one ride or like some themed parks, for private birthday parties or other types of events before or after normal operating hours. For example, during winter months, the park’s program is shorter, so it is possible to rent a whole or partial-themed park earlier.

Expect to spend anywhere between $50,000 and $17 million to rent parts of Disneyland, depending on factors like the time of the year, the size of the rented area, and the length of the rental.
It is estimated that Disney makes around $13 billion a day on all of their parks and earns an average of $19 million a day. This is a really big number and is one of the main reasons, besides their policy regarding their public, why it cannot be rented.
Renting Out Parts of the Park
The best way to find out their policy rental is to give them a call to check the availability and the price depending on it.
As we mentioned above, one of the frequent types of rentals is the after-hour rental. There are many celebrities and large companies who have done this, in this way allowing the park to function normally for the whole public.
For example, you can rent a ride or attraction for at least $50,000 for four hours. If you want larger areas of the park like Downtown Disney or Adventure Land the price may start from about $250,000 – $300,000.
Celebrities that rented out Disney World
In 1988, when Michael Jackson rented Disneyland, he paid around $17 million.
In 2013, a Saudi prince hosted private parties for three days, and they were held only after 11 PM to 2 AM or in the morning before the program for the public began. These parties, called Disney Dreamers Everywhere, cost him $16 million.
Other celebrities that rented an entire amusement park were Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott. They rented the entire Six Flags for $100,000 for an hour. This won’t happen at Disneyland as they are open to the public and anyone who can afford the tickets all year round during operating hours.
How do celebrities go to Disneyland?
When celebrities want to visit Disneyland, they usually rent a VIP tour which includes priority access to rides. The Disneyland tickets for the VIP tour cost from $500 to $700 per hour depending on your needs.
Disneyland Weddings
Disneyland thought about everything, so they came up with two types of packages for those who want to celebrate weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and graduations. These events will also be held outside the functioning program for the public, due to the same logistical reasons, meaning before 8 AM or after 10 PM.
Escape Collection
If you are on a fixed budget and you want to have a fairy tale Disney wedding this package will probably suit you. The cost of “Escape” starts from $6,500 for a group of up to 18 persons. It is available from Monday to Thursday and you can book it six months in advance. It includes a wedding officiant, a cake, and a meal for the guests, but if you want something more like flowers or a Disney character you will pay additionally.
Wishes Collection
The Wishes Collection is for a larger budget and parties that have at least 18 guests, with a cost starting from $15,000. You can opt for a wedding ceremony at Disneyland Hotel for at least $4,000, or for the most expensive one, a wedding in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle, plus an after reception, with a price starting from $180,000.
Cinderella Castle has an exclusive room
Disney’s most iconic castle, especially the one located in Disney World, has a hidden suite, which occupies an entire floor, that was originally designed for the Walt Disney family to stay in during their visits, although he died before it was finished.
It was not until 2006 that it was transformed into a luxury room with a cased ceiling and stained glass. Unfortunately, Disney doesn’t have it available for rent, and one source said that the park refused an offer of $40,000 for a night. Only a few stars spent the night there with a special invitation, such as Mariah Carey, Kevin Jonas, and Tom Cruise, or winners of occasional competitions, such as the one organized by the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF).
Walt Disney
Walt Disney was and remains the father of modern cartoons. In his 43 years of career, “Modern Esop” – as he was called, after the famous Greek fabulist – was the producer and director of over 600 animated films, for which he received 950 medals, awards, and distinctions from all over the world, over 30 Oscars and 7 Emmy Awards, awarded by the American Academy.
The creator of Mickey Mouse and the famous Disneyland Park has influenced world art through imagination, innovative spirit, and optimism. Disney brought to the world, through his work, not only joy and happiness but also a unique means of communication between the peoples of the world: the cartoon.
Mickey Mouse is, therefore, the one who opens the series of characters created by Walt Disney. He is followed by the famous Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto, who have charmed the whole world.
The list of movies created by Disney also includes “Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs”, “Pinocchio”, “Dumbo Elephant”, “Bambi” or “Fantasia”.
In the early 50s, Walt Disney began designing a huge amusement park to be built near Los Angeles. He intended Disneyland to have an educational value, but also to be fun for both adults and children.
He bought land in Anaheim, located about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles, and the construction of the park began in 1954. In the summer of 1955, special invitations were sent to open Disneyland Park on July 17. Unfortunately, the invitations were forged and thousands of uninvited people entered the park on the day of its launch.
The Park was not yet ready for the public as the food and drink ended in a few hours. However, the park did not suffer, and attractions such as the Castle, the Adventures of Snow White, the X-1 Space Station, and the Jungle Journey attracted countless children and parents. Special events and the continuous construction of innovative attractions led them to visit the park again.
In 1965, construction began on an even larger Disney theme park near Orlando, Florida. Walt Disney died in 1966, and Walt Disney World was opened in his honor on October 1, 1971. Later, Epcot Center, Disney-MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom were added to Walt Disney World, making this complex the main tourist attraction of the state of Florida.
In 1983, Disneyland Tokyo opened in Japan, and in 1992 it was inaugurated at Marne-la-Vallee near Paris the Disneyland Paris – or EuroDisney “-. On December 15, 1966, he dies due to heart and lung problems in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Final words
Either way, Disneyland parks offer a glimpse into the past, into a carefree world full of stories and magical characters. Even if Disneyland is not a cheap place to rent, we don’t see why you shouldn’t do it if you have the possibility. A Disneyland wedding or birthday party won’t be easy to forget.
