Brand history

Planet Smoothie was founded by Martin Sprock in 1995. He opened his first store in Atlanta, Georgia with the mission to offer smoothies that taste great, in a unique and fun environment. He knew that his clients would appreciate a location where they are served tasty smoothies that are made with real fruits and high-quality ingredients, with a smile and enthusiasm.

Planet Smoothies was bought by Tasti D-Lite LLC which also operates Tasti D-Lite stores, in November 2011. After this acquisition, several stores started to convert to a dual-brand product mix, serving both soft serve and smoothies.

In 2015, Planet Smoothie became part of the Kahala Brands family, which includes in its portfolio around a dozen sandwich, treat, and fast-food chains.
