The Crenshaw and Bill Corre designed course in Mullen, Nebraska has been a secret getaway for years. The 8,000-acre ranch is located on the edge of town but far away from any noise or traffic so you can enjoy nature at your leisure while playing golf. Corre and Crenshaw searched for two years to find the perfect 18-hole golf course. After countless sketches, they finally created their masterpiece with 3 thousand cubic yards of soil and sand available at the time of construction.

The Sand Hills golf club is considered by many to be the most famous course in all of the Midwest. It has attracted members from around the world, who come for its renowned status and signature layouts that are unmatched anywhere else on earth.

The club’s membership is an eclectic mix of people, from all over the country and maybe even globally too. With less than 200 active members in total, there’s no wonder why this place has such an elite reputation.

How Much Does a Sand Hills Golf Club Membership Cost?

This club has a long waiting list and the cost varies depending on what type of membership you want. We were not able to find much information online about them, but it seems like the membership cost is in the mid to high five figures per year.

Sand Hills Golf Club doesn’t have just the golf course to offer, but also a practice putting green, a driving range, locker rooms, a fully-stocked pro shop, club rentals, a bar, a restaurant on-site, and showers.

What are the extra costs?

Guests and members who don’t have golf privileges have to pay a guest fee of around $200, plus a fee per cart of around $25 to play.

The luxurious golf club is a private establishment that requires sponsorship from members. All guests require an invitation by the member they are accompanying.

The Sand Hills are a vast, enchanted land where the golf course sits upon its own 19600 square miles. With dunes that reach up to 300 feet tall and span anywhere from 10-150 acres in size, it’s easy to see why this region would make for some of America’s best golf courses.

The links-style golf course is designed to be challenging but not impossible. There are many natural and manmade bunkers that can block your shot, but no out-of-bounds stakes, water hazards, or trees on the course. The greens vary in size, some may seem large while others will be small.

The Sand Hills Golf Club is a hidden gem in the middle of Mullen town, which has less than 500 residents and is located at more than five hours away from Denver International Airport or Omaha’s tiny airport.

The golf season at Sand Hills Golf Club starts on the first of June and ends on 30th September every year. During eight months, when the club is closed many members are also members of upscale country clubs in different states.

Members are offered the opportunity to become a member of the Nebraska Golf Association as well.

There were rumors that if you are not a member you still have the possibility to play golf at this club during non-peak periods. All you have to do is to write them a letter and pay around $230 per round. Though, as a non-member, you can do this only once in your lifetime.
