Brand History
The history of Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar starts back in 1997 when the two walk-ons on the Louisiana State University basketball team, Jack Warner and Brandon Landry became friends. They worked and practiced really hard to earn and keep their spots on the basketball team, but they didn’t play so much.

As members of the Louisiana State University basketball team, they have traveled all over the United States, and during these trips, they had the opportunity to visit and eat at some of the best sports bars and restaurants. These two discovered that they have more things in common besides basketball. They realized that the Baton Rouge area, where they came from, needed a sports bar and restaurant. Their business idea was penned on the back of a napkin while they flew back home with their team from a road game at the University of Tennessee.
Even though they didn’t have a lot of business experience or a lot of funds, they opened their first restaurant on September 9, 2003, close to the Louisiana State University Tiger Stadium. Their success was insured by their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence. Jack and Brandon created a business environment where every team member is important and needed as much as the next guy.
In the next nine years, Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar worked really hard to build a reputation in the industry. Their efforts have been eventually recognized and in 2012 they were named the #1 Sports Bar in America by ESPN. Also, in 2017 Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar won the National Restaurant News’ Menu Masters Award. This is a recognition of the fact that their business concept is interesting and unique.
In 2015 Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar started franchising in order to expand its locations all over the United States.
Nowadays there are more than 50 Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar locations in more than 15 states in America.
