Brand history

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar was founded twenty-five years ago, in 1998. Bill Allen and Paul Fleming opened their first restaurant in Newport, California with the mission to build a steakhouse that breaks the stereotype. They wanted to create a place that offered world-class service and the finest steak, in a warmer, more modern, and welcoming environment.

At that time, the restaurant industry was saturated with steakhouse competitors, but Paul and Bill believed that their new restaurant could fill a gap between fine-dining and casual steakhouses. An individual would have to pay around $50 for dining at them. In order to lower the costs for the clients, they offered wine by the glass, which was an uncommon practice in most high-end steakhouses.

Currently, the restaurant chain is operated and owned by Bloomin’ Brands, headquartered in Tampa, Florida.

They have more than 65 Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar restaurants you can find throughout 26 US states, including Florida, Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, California, Connecticut, Colorado, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Utah, Rhode Island, Texas, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Michigan, Louisiana, Ohio, Nebraska, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Nevada. Also, there is one in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Our review

Flemings Menu ItemThe Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar restaurants welcome their customers in a very classy atmosphere, with wine glasses, tables covered in white sheets, and wooden chairs covered in red leather. Their staff is very courteous, well-trained, and knows a lot about steaks and wine.

Their menu includes seven steak house cuts such as tomahawk, filet mignon, specialty bone-in ribeye, New York strip, and others. But no matter what piece of meat you choose, each of these will be prepared the same professional way. All of the steaks served here have been dry-aged for twenty-one days, according to the company. You should budget $45 to $65 for the steaks.

The appetizers are priced at $15 to $25, and include options such as Shrimp Cocktail, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, House-made Burrata, French Onion Soup, Tenderloin Carpaccio, and Sweet Chile Calamari, to name a few.

The wine list includes around one hundred types you can choose from, including Pinot Noir, Rose, Merlot, White Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, and others. Plan on spending $25 to $40 for two glasses of wine.
