Brand History

The history of Chuck E. Cheese starts back in 1977 when Nolan Bushnell came up with the idea to create a place that combines fast-food-style dining with an indoor arcade and family entertainment center.

Nolan intended to name the restaurant “Coyote Pizza” but when he started to assemble his first animatronic show, he discovered that the costume of his main character which should have been a coyote was actually a rat. So, he thought to call it “Rick Rat’s Pizza”. Though, his marketing team had another opinion and believed that “Chuck E. Cheese” would be more appealing to the customers. Also, the company made the rat their mascot.

This restaurant is not only family-oriented but also environmentally aware and this made it win the Environmental Sustainability Award in 2015.

Chuck E. Cheese went international in the early 1980s when they opened their first location in Australia under the name “Charlie Cheese’s Pizza Playhouse”

Nowadays there are more than 600 Chuck E. Cheese locations all over the world.

Our review

Chuck e Cheese MascotThe Chuck E. Cheese menu is focused mainly on fast food items such as French fries, salads, chicken wings, subs, hot dogs, and pizza. Though, in the last years, they have expanded their menu in order to also include gluten-free options. Moreover, they offer personal-size cheese pizzas, sheet cakes, and cotton candy.

The most ordered item on the menu is their specialty pizza, but the customers also love the cinnamon dessert pizza and the chicken wings.

The atmosphere here tends to be agitated and noisy due to the children who are running around and having fun as the restaurant has arcade games and play areas. Though, there are some locations that have been remodeled into a calmer ambiance.

It is unbelievable how friendly and energetic is the staff taking into consideration the fact that the kids make a lot of chaos and noise. The restaurant offers many seating options, which are large enough to organize birthday parties and still receive walk-in customers.
